Production High Pressure Die Cast Tooling
WMTD has been building production, multi-cavity, high pressure die cast tooling for various industries since 1977. Our tools are used for running low, medium, and high volume production of various alloys of aluminum, zinc, and magnesium.
We build tooling for the automotive, power tool, heavy equipment, agricultural, furniture, home appliance, HVAC, recreational vehicle industries and others.
WMTD builds tooling for 1200 ton presses and smaller, specializing in multi-cavity, open/shut and multi-slide tooling. We build cold and hot chambered tooling suitable for die cast machines made by all press manufacturers.
The company is ISO 9001:2015 QMS certified for Design and Build of tooling and have engineers on staff with over 100 years of combined experience to design your tooling. Audits of our quality system have never resulted in a Major or Minor non-compliance. The company’s record for continuous improvement is a focus. Via computer simulation, WMTD provides flow, thermal, air entrapment, porosity, and shrinkage data that will allow you to streamline the Pre-Production Approval Process (PPAP).
Quality materials and North American Die Cast Association (NADCA) specified heat treatment are used throughout the mold builds extending the expected life of the tooling and delaying the need for repairs.
Once the need to repair a tool surfaces, WMTD addresses heat checked, washed out, cracked, or damaged high pressure die cast tools. The staff focuses on rapidly returning the repaired tooling to production.
As the tooling reaches its end of life, the company provides replacement cavity inserts, or replacement full tools integrating lessons learned and best practices developed during initial build phase of tooling.
